They are announcing two important new projects at NAMM 2010 in Anaheim, California: The Bridge, by Ableton and Serato, and the APC20, in association with Akai Professional.
Both are the result of collaborations with market-leading partners in the worlds of DJ software and producer hardware, respectively. Both represent important extensions of the Ableton Live platform and provide new possibilities for DJs, musicians and producers within and beyond the Ableton Live community.
1. Serato and Ableton present: The Bridge
The Bridge spans the gap between music production and DJing, creating a natural link between Ableton Live and Serato Scratch Live or ITCH. The Bridge provides a powerful fusion of DJ and production tools, opening a world of opportunities for DJing, remixing and live performance.
The Bridge works in both directions: Ableton to Serato The Bridge provides Ableton Transport Control (ATC), giving you turntable-style control of your own multitrack productions. Simply drag an Ableton Live Set to a deck in Scratch Live or ITCH and use your turntables, CDJ or ITCH controller to control the transport. Serato to Ableton The Bridge gives you the ultimate mixtape creation tool.
Perform your mix in Scratch Live or ITCH and save it as an automated Live Set. This way, you play your mix - better than cut and pasting it together in a DAW - but you also get detailed editing options. Pricing and availability for The Bridge The Bridge is free for anyone who owns registered versions of both Serato Scratch Live or ITCH hardware and Ableton Live 8 or Suite 8. We don't have a release date yet, but we'll keep you informed.

2. The Akai Professional APC20
Ableton and Akai Professional are pleased to announce the APC20, Akai Professional's second dedicated controller for Ableton Live. Following in the footsteps of the hugely successful APC40, the APC20 offers musicians, producers and performers freedom from the keyboard and mouse, providing a fully integrated hardware-software musical system for creative composition and performance. It also features the APC40's multicolor 8x5 button Session View Matrix, eight high-quality faders and two-way communication with Ableton Live. The APC20 also features three modes of operation, built-in customization features and a number of smart new tricks. Same big grid, smaller footprint.
The APC20 was co-developed by Ableton and Akai Professional.
