Playing around with sounds is a daily occupation for any respectable dance producer. There’s no doubt that Markus Schulz, Coldharbour label owner and current number 8 DJ in the world, is a true master at producing. But the question is: will he also be as good at toying around with his own ‘Spilled Cranberries’ track on the new blocks game for charity, ‘Chime’?

‘Chime’ is an exclusive Zoë Mode production for OneBigGame, the videogames industry-wide charity initiative. Chime pits gamers against the melody in this all-new puzzle experience: Players place blocks against the clock, remix famous artists’ music tracks and contribute to children’s charities around the world. Besides tracks by Moby, Orbital, Lemon Jelly and Philip Glass, one of the levels also features the ‘Spilled Cranberries’ track by one of the world’s best progressive/trance producer, Markus Schulz. The track, straight from his renowned ‘Progression’ artist album, is an atmospheric interlude with a sensitive, classical touch that gives players some great deep synths and beats to work with in the game.

All artists involved have donated their tracks pro bono to the game, which sees all net proceeds go to the Save The Children and Starlight’s Children Foundation charities. Save The Children is an independent charity that works for the rights of children who are still denied proper healthcare, food, education and protection while Starlights Children Foundation is dedicated to help seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities. So by playing ‘Chime’, you don’t only create your own remixes, but also give to a good cause. More than 60 percent of the purchase price of Chime will be donated to charities around the world, helping those who need it the most.

The official release date of ‘Chime’ is February 3rd, available on Xbox Live Arcade.

Markus Schulz - Las Vegas ‘10

Las Vegas, Nevada - the city where anything really can happen. And for Markus Schulz, it has been one of the most influential and inspirational cities he has played over the past 12 months.

His city compilations have been critically acclaimed due to the tracks and artists that feature, and the journey that only Markus Schulz is capable of taking you on.

The details of Markus' latest chapter of the series have been announced, and the anticipation for Las Vegas ’10 has reached fever levels. Featuring marquee tracks from the likes of Max Graham, Arnej, Phynn and Skytech among others, this compilation looks set to cement Markus as one of the most forward thinking members of his trade, harnessing his experiences in sin city and projecting them into a one-on-one experience with the listener.

Las Vegas ’10 will be available on iTunes from February 15th, and on CD from February 22nd. Markus himself makes a much anticipated return to The Palms in Las Vegas this Saturday, February 6th.


Global DJ Broadcast: World Tour - Sao Paulo, Brazil

The 26th edition of Markus Schulz’s World Tour series takes him deep into the South American summer, and touching down in the Brazilian municipal of Sao Paulo. The Coldharbour community gathered at the Sirena nightclub this past Saturday night, eager to show the world that like their Medellin compatriots, their passion rivals any other clubbing conglomerate worldwide.

Catch the next edition of the World Tour this Thursday on DI.fm; beginning at 12pm EST | 5pm UK | 6pm CET, and on Sirius XM Radio in North America this Saturday.

Markus Schulz - World Tour: Best of 2009 iPhone App Now Available

If you want to travel the world through sound, Markus Schulz has the exact right App for your iPhone or iPod Touch! Markus Schulz to play at Trance Energy 2010

In a bit more than three months, the Jaarbeurs venue in Utrecht will be filled with thousands of trance lovers. On the third of April, the halls will host one of the most anticipated events of the year, Trance Energy. As the beat kicks in, the lightshow starts and the spirit rises, some of the best trance DJs will grace the decks. Headlining the main stage will be none other than Markus Schulz, and he is already promising a very special performance on the night, one that will be fitting for the world’s biggest and most beloved event.


Markus Schulz - “Spilled Cranberries” to appear in “Chime” Videogame

OneBigGame, a non-profit publisher of videogames, has confirmed the final music artist lineup for its recently announced puzzle music game “Chime” on XBox Love Arcade for the Xbox 360. Included in the lineup is Markus Schulz, who donated his track “Spilled Cranberries”, taken from the Progression album, pro bono to the game, which will see all net proceeds go to charity. Chime will be available through the Xbox Live Arcade from Wednesday February 3rd.


Keeping Up To Date - Markus’ Written Blogs

After a break from writing due to extensive studio work for his upcoming artist album in 2010, Markus Schulz recommenced his writing duties on New Year's Eve and has kept his fans regularly up to date with his activities in the studio and on the road through hiswritten blogs.

In the latest editions, he reflects on Together As One, a South American tour, the return of his residency at Ministry of Sound in London, as well as mixing the Las Vegas ’10 compilation.
